I have tried to get the software. I paid for karaoke song list creator from Airware but apparently its no longer updated and they didn't have the legends set on.

 

I couldn't follow BJ'S instructions. It just didn't seem to work.

If you can't remember the PW then drop Airwer (that's his real name) a line at

[email protected] and ask him for it, when you buy the program you purchase

it (and the database updates) for life ~~ but remember that you don't get any

program updates unless a new version is released just after you purchase.

 

The database updates work with any version of the program.

It's been a long time (now that would make a great first line for a song -

what do you mean it's already been done??) and my senior citizen brain

cannot remember what I did last time that I started trying to sort out

this double set of discs.

, I think it is the same as yours, as you pointed out on 1337 a while ago, JD's numbering went a bit out of whack for a while... This time of year, - if he is still alive - (haven't heard anything of him since 2018 when the website closed down), he will be snowbirding it down to the southern US.

JD Crooner - who authored the Dancing Frog series of karaoke tracks, passed away on

January 6th of 2019

There was an email address where you could request a full track listing for all his output, but I tried it a couple of times last year, and the emails just bounced back.

You have a choice of three actions, and can use any or all of them.

 

The Yellow Thumbs-Up gives exactly that and after it's been clicked a yellow Thumbs-Up

will appear at the bottom left of the article ~~ if you them click on that Thumbs-Up you

see a list of the people that have given a Thumbs-Up.

 

If you click on the Grey Thumbs Up , a row of 24 icons will appear just above and you can

select any of those to show appreciation (or not in fact) or the article.

 

And finally, hovering over the small 'Like' will give you another row of 6 icons to select

from ~ and your choice will appear at the very bottom of the article.

 

What clicking appreciations to posts does is add credits to a members reputation 'REP',

you can'y do anything with the credits SFAIK but there is a league table which you can

access by clicking the right arrow to the right of Donations at the top right of this page,

Reaction score - Like count (no of times your posts has been liked)

 

Points - Trophy Points - Total amount of points you received from trophies

You open this link, you'll see all the trophies you received and add the total points for all the trophies... yours is 63

 

Credits: You receive (+5) credits per post, (-5) credits if your post is deleted. Each character in your post is 0.01 .. so the more you write in a single post, the more credits you can get, more posts means more credits...

 

Reputation Points = +2 points for each torrent you post, unlike the credits system, once you get points a torrent, even if its deleted, your points will stay intact, same applies to Achievements..

Another check after recent uploads/downloads.

JT101, JT102, and JT103 are in fact PS0101, PS0102, and PS0103. They are numbered this way in the folders as well.

Although there are "karaoke versions" of this track on YouTube, none of them have sweeping graphics, I presume because the track itself is Electronica, and a key component of that genre of music is that the vocals are usually sped (speeded?) up.

 

One of the drawbacks of CDG graphics is the wipe speed and the fact that it does so in segments. It has long been understood that the faster the wipe, the harder it is for the screen to refresh, and the brain to understand what it is seeing, and then expressing that information, especially if it is unfamiliar. Anyone trying to sing at karaoke for the first time "Guitar Man" by Elvis, or most hip hop rap tracks will know how hard it is. Introduce vocals that have been sped up into that, and you have a near impossible task, a) to get the graphics onto the screen in a legible manner, and b) to process the information fast enough to be able to sing those lyrics.

 

MP4 (video) karaoke would give a smoother rendering of the synchronised wipe, but the cognition and expression issue would still be a problem.

 

This is generally why faster songs quite often slip through the net when it comes to Commercial track production. If you throw into the mix that in karaoke producing nations, the highest chart position attained by the song was 6 in the UK for one week, (it didn't even chart in France!), the commercial value of creating, synchronising and marketing the track has very little financial value to producers (if indeed they could get it licensed!).

Just be aware, that there is a massive instrumental break in this song, from 00:46 to 02:00, and an outro from 02:24 to the end 03:04... One minute and ten seconds of actual singing in a just over three minute track... Not quite 'Tequila' (which I actually had someone do on Saturday (groan....)...

I broadly agree with the points you make about the song.

Of course some songs - good and bad - are more suitable than others for use as a karaoke track.

Having said that... you just never know... The girls singing it may be brilliant, and have a fantastic dance routine for the instrumental bit!

In reality though - they will probably just stand there staring at the screen
