Weird one this.

 

Checking thru the VSCH2020 zips and VS2020CH1-15 - Camila Cabello - Shameless

came up as a corrupted zipfile.

 

So went back to Davey's very kind upload and re-downloaded the single file; as usual

I right-clicked on the file thatI wanted and selected Download>> Download as Zip,

and it was still corrupted!

 

Unlikely for Davey to put up corrupted files, so I re-re-downloaded (!!!) but this time

selecting Download>>Standard Download - and this time the file was fine.

 

So: In future I'll select Standard when downloading -- downloading files that are

already compressed inside another zipfile saves about zilch, so I have learned a

lesson

Another thought did occur to me... Are you using the MEGAsync Manager? I find that it is far better to manage file tranfers than the download buttons on the Web page. I found out, very early on with MEGA, that it seems they use a 7-zip variant to compress downloads, and there are occasions that it fails.

Nope, don't use that. I've found that if I use the try to download buttons on their

page I'm urged to install their Mega desktop app >> this despite the fact that it's

installed and running.

 

However I've found that if I right-click on the files and/or directories that I want to

check out, I can then download without the nagging >> so long as I dion't exceed

5GB a day; I right-click and wait for the Mega to sort out what it wants to do and

I'm then presented with a window offering me a choice of directory, and even

better, a choice of filename so that so that I can name it somehting meaningful

to me :devilish:

I am touched and flattered that you consider my file management to be so good... I am as falible as anyone regarding that issue. The only thing I have going for me is that I have had most of my files for many years and if things are damaged I do my best to correct the problems... I still on occasions come across corrupted cdg files, usually from older disks that I have tried to rip, but I try to spend the time rebuilding the cdg's with CDGFix where possible...

Not so much that I just can't think why anybody would share files without at least

checking the integrity of the zipfiles before sharing them.

Totally brand new member, just not new to being a KJ. Can't say thank you all enough I've been looking for a lot of the stuff you all have linked to today for months. I totally stumbled on this place by accident but again thank you thank you thank you. (y)(y)
