BJtheDJ Posted yesterday at 10:09 AM Report Posted yesterday at 10:09 AM Dammit, the lyrics to this song are almost perfect; she wrote it for her then husband James Taylor. 2
liberallesbo Posted yesterday at 02:00 PM Report Posted yesterday at 02:00 PM Funny story, years ago we were on a family holiday in Cape Cod. I had a broken leg and a dislocated hip from doing something stupid, and was in a wheelchair. My mom was pushing me around and had left me outside a shop while she went in. I wheeled myself down a door or two and was looking in another window, when a lovely woman came along and asked me if I needed help. She wheeled me indoors, and the two of us wandered around the shop -- her pushing me around and chatting amiably. When we came out, my mom was frantic, but behaved a bit oddly with this lady, who excused herself and went about her day. "Jesus Christ!" Said my mom when the woman had gone, "Wait 'til I tell your father you were kidnapped by Carly Simon." 3
BJtheDJ Posted yesterday at 02:38 PM Report Posted yesterday at 02:38 PM Really fine song, but why does the guitarist have to have 2 Marshall stacks of speakers behind him?? Player - Baby Come Back.mp4 3
BJtheDJ Posted 17 hours ago Report Posted 17 hours ago Another from the late Carly Simon, just a wonderful album track rather than a single. Can't find a video of this with moving pictures, just an album cover. Great to hear a modern song (well the 60s was modern-ish for me) that's about life and not about love. My first wife used to love this and played it constantly saying that she was the older to her own younger sister (that, despite the song referring to 'French phrases round the room' and wife1 was a German /English secretary). PS. Love the litle snatch of "Mr Bass man" backing singer at about 1:31. 2 1
