ok...the deal is this...

after googling a lot i had no luck.

and this is my last resort cause i think is not possible.

well, i have some old torrents (5 years or more), they are alive and kicking but trackers are almost all dead (i know that torrents work even without trackers, DHT working does the job, correct me if i am wrong)

so...i would like to change trackers of those torrents, but not only for me, the leecher must notice that change in trackers.

my doubt is that...is it possible to do that change after the announcement or am i condemned to make another torrent with the same files?

thank you in advanced...ahhh, i search the forum for an answer and do not find a thing.

thanks

not possible AFAIK, leechers must change trackers manually

hope and pray DHT + Peer Exchange (PEX) does the job

but in the case of torrents mistakenly marked private (DHT, PEX won't work on those) tell the peers (might not happen) to change trackers too

there was a tutorial on Torrent Galaxy that explained bit by bit how you could accomplished that...at the time i was not worried about that stuff so i did not copy/paste to some sheet of digital paper. but i remember i was surprised that changing trackers after torrent announcement was possible.

i must find some admn, maybe they have some copy of the tutorial.

well, i thought this was a mission almost impossible...

thank you for your response

You're right - torrents can work with DHT and PEX even if trackers go down. But unfortunately, you can't update the tracker list in a torrent and have that change reflect for others unless they also manually update it. The .torrent file is static once shared. To truly change trackers for everyone, you'd need to re-create and redistribute a new torrent with the updated tracker list.

i knew that...a new torrent must be done.... humpf 🤨

...but it was a shot in the dark...and i still remember there was a TGx tutorial...that must be me dreaming 😁😁...I just woke up 🙄
