It's hard enough to understand most of the punters as they are quite inebriated most of the time , then you've got the people who want to sing "wise men say" or "summer lovin'" & the ones who want to sing but have forgot the name of the song and the artist & the tune , then expect you to know which song it is :D

Don't forget the ones that want to sing rolling! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Ok. A wee out there stab in the dark. I've sang wet wet wet temptation for some time. However the way they sing it live is outstanding. Has anyone got a live version of it? Even maybe a boot leg of it? I k ow it's a long shot. However there may be some anorak out there that has the same love for it as me and made one! 😁 a wee thanks in advance if there is one.

I agrre that that's the case when we're looking, but the punters look with

their eyes not (like us) with their fingers.

 

Punters want to sing The Rose, The Climb and that's what they look for in

the books (when we can be bothered to re-do them).

 

I'm tryna figure out a way of having an app for their phones which will give

them the ability to search like I do in VirtualDJ. I'm not website literate

so I'd have to get someone to write an app to access a database hosted

on my website - or maybe my home computer

You can also make a QR code for the Song Books Live web page and have it printed on your Karake song request slips, the punters can just scan the code with their mobile phones to have acess to all your tracks.

Just catching up from the weekend, leenew it is fantastic that you are doing that. I'm in the same process here on my own. In the 24 years that I've been doing karaoke I've always known you can't please everyone. I remember subscribing to KJpro to print out the books and always errors and nobody wanted to look up artists last name, first. They complained about us not using "A" or "The" in the beginning. Finally said to myself I don't care, the book is labeled as I want it.

This is getting depressing now!

There are so many mistakes!!!

Does anyone have All-Star Karaoke ASKFP09-1

15 tracks starting with 01-Kelly Clarkson - A Moment Like This and ending with 15-Sonique - It Feels So Good.

This one is completely messed up. All the wrong songs.

 

Other people who have the DaveDee collection please take note.

The downside is everytime I add another folder I have to go back through and make sure I am keeping the naming consistency.

It is a real pain lol!

I know what you mean, I'v been doing this for about 40 years.

It started when my wife started to sing at our local pub karaoke,

it then became much like Pokemon... Jut got ot have them all,

It would be great if we could all get together and decide on 1 system.

Myself I am trying to rename my collection.

Album-Track - Artist - Track [Maker] i.e. Sunfly = [sF] ect.

I have found as great programme called "Mp3tag"

so now I unzip any downloads rename them the way i want them then "Mp3tag fills in the tag info

and I now keep them unzipped

I lost my whole collection about 10 years ago and still trying to catch up.

Very much like you "everytime I add another folder I have to go back through

Anyway enough said just glad that we are all here to help each other

My story is very much like yours Sharkie!

I have a "skeleton collection" which is fine for 99% of gigs but my full collection just disappeared (probably in a house move).

I use MP3Tag. It was me who got Florian, the author, to make sure it renamed .cdg files with the MP3.

He was very responsive back in the day. I wanted him to update it so you could mass delete cdg's too.

I don't know if you have noticed but when you delete MP3s the cdg gets left behind. It's a bit of a shame.

 

Anyway, back to today...

 

I have just had a bit of a melt down.

I find a mistake - a song labelled as a completely different song - so I check the album to find loads more mistakes.

I then try to find different copies, only to find more mistakes - from different manufacturers - on different discs.

I feel like it is one step forward and 3 steps back.

It is getting me down!

 

Of course the latest ones don't have any duplicates I can use.

I will post a request in a second....

Unfortunately, I cannot be much of a help with JV0035 as I have just realized I have the same issue with mine (which I obtained nearly 15 years ago)! It looks like on my side, all the JV0035 songs are jumbled.
